Advanced Wireless Forms 2.0 Takes Mobile Efficiency to the Next Level

Press Released: March 15, 2012

Actsoft, Inc., a leading provider of wireless data collection and mobile resource management (MRM) tools is proud to announce the update of its popular Advanced Wireless Forms application.

An innovator in mobile data collection applications, the new Advanced Wireless Forms 2.0 release provides the ability to perform calculations within the wireless form and additional dropdown options such email, state, and multi-select capability.

“At Actsoft, we build relationships, create solutions, and deliver results. Advanced Wireless Forms 2.0 is proof that we take that mission seriously. We engage our clients for feedback and suggestions to make a more efficient product. AWF 2.0 enhancements were some of the most requested features that we received. We have even more suggestions in development for our future releases,” states Trent Cherin, Actsoft Vice President of Technology.

The new version features several new capabilities:

Calculations provides multiple formula options for fields including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Calculate currency, parts, hours worked, and more. Perfect for invoicing, job bidding, and service orders.

Multi-select dropdowns – employees in the field can now choose a preset answer, type in a new answer, or select multiple answers in the all-new multi-select dropdown field. Advanced Wireless Forms no longer requires additional fields for multi-answer responses.

Email field- Allows the user to search, select or type a new email address into the form for sending information from the field. Much like the multi-select dropdown, more than one email can be added at one time, so companies can send receipts, order confirmations, and invoices instantly.

State drop down fields – this new convenient option for the form builder allows users to select the one of the 50 states in a drop down field. This is perfect for service orders, mileage, and more.

Advanced Wireless Forms is designed to improve operational efficiency as employees in the field populate the fields and send information back electronically, eliminating unnecessary trips to the office. No matter the complexity, Advanced Wireless Forms allows employers to create and implement forms that serve their business needs.

Carried over from the previous version, all form activity is validated through GPS and wireless integration using something companies already have – cellular devices. For more information and to view tutorials, please visit our Advanced Wireless Forms website.

Is there an app for that…

Remember when we played Frogger, Pong, or Pitfall on Atari? Simple yet fun games that stimulated our minds. Now, all we have to do is grab our phone or tablet, and POOF! Instant mind-stimulation on the go. You can’t tell me that you have never played Angry Birds or Words with Friends while you were in a business meeting that was dragging….We all have been there. Our minds have been trained that when we are not 100% stimulated, a tiny voice says “Dude, there’s an app for that.” But how many apps are really useful to our everyday work lives? How many apps “stimulate” our wallet and our minds?

Actsoft develops useful apps for companies with mobile resources by increasing productivity and the bottom line at the same time. Our solutions are built so that companies become more efficient by eliminating manual data entry processes (one of most the mind-numbing tasks assigned). Becoming more productive and more proficient results in a streamlined workflow and provides more time to “play” the fun apps…out with the old and in with the new is the name of this technology game.

With Actsoft, you no longer have to wait on paperwork from the sales team to process invoices. You don’t have to manually enter in time sheets, mileage reports, or inventory levels into an excel spreadsheet. Our Comet Suite and Advanced Wireless Forms apps do the work, so you don’t have to.

So thank you Actsoft. Thanks for giving us more time in our day so we can chart the stars, count our calories, and play Angry Birds. So yes…if you are looking for an app that will be useful in your daily life…we have an app for that.

Pizza makes a heart grow fonder...

For most Valentine’s Day is a day filled with love and romance.  A day devoted to the one you love.  It’s a day where strides are made to let loved ones know you appreciate them.  True, this should really be the case every day, but let’s face it you will have a better chance of staying out of the “dog house” if you put forward a bit more effort than usual on Valentine’s Day.

Some shower their sweet hearts with chocolate and flowers, but Actsoft goes straight for the stomach by offering employees pizza on Valentine’s Day.  Served with a side of LOVE  of course.  What better way to let an employee know you care than by offering up some fresh hot pizza? Now that’s love baby…XOXO

Actsoft Leads the Industry with Updates on iOS

Tampa, FL, February 10, 2012 - Actsoft, Inc., a leading provider of wireless data collection and mobile resource management (MRM) tools announces significant updates to its revolutionary Comet Suite on the iOS platform.

As an innovator in mobile data collection applications, Actsoft leads the industry with fourteen hours of battery life while using GPS tracking on iOS devices such as iPhone™ and iPad™. Comet Suite’s application is set to obtain the GPS position every sixty seconds resulting in a longer battery life for mobile workers who rely on their device throughout the day.

We didn’t want to put a product out there that we knew would drain a battery or serve as a bad experience for our customers,” said Trent Cherin, Vice President of Technology. “We know our customers and partners have a certain expectation of our product and we wanted to not only fulfill those expectations, but exceed them. We have achieved that goal.”

By utilizing the power of the OS5.x. operating system, Actsoft’s update to Comet Suite features wireless time keeping, in-app messaging, worker status updates, forms, order dispatching, and more. A high note of this update resides with the exclusive features in order dispatching; orders are displayed on a detailed map for employees in the field. Additionally, driving directions to the subsequent order can be displayed on the device screen to improve response time and reduce fuel costs. Mobile employees can “message” worker status updates instantly allowing management to make business decisions based on the closest-to and available employees.

We thought a lot about increasing operational efficiency in the field, while staying true to the individualism of these two products. We wanted to combine the two technologies to make one of the best products on the market,” said Cherin.

Actsoft’s Comet Suite is available in cloud or enterprise-based versions. All activity is validated through GPS and wireless integration.

Actsoft works hard and plays hard

Actsoft believes in hard work. After all, it is the hard work and the strong work ethic of our employees that makes our company a respected industry leader in mobile resource management. We take pride, not only in our individual employees (one claims to put the “A” in Actsoft), but also in the teams that work together to build lasting relationships. Our philosophy is to try to bring out the best in an individual but also pay close attention to the inner workings of our team environment. Constant communication, strong leadership, and increasing the ability to work as a group is key, but having fun is also a huge component to the success of our company’s culture.

But don’t get us wrong. “All work and no play make Jack a dull boy”…and Jack definitely does not work here!

At a recent company meeting, our Leadership Team decided that a little bit of fun can go a long way for building a strong team. Actsoft Challenge 2011 kicked off as an “Interactive Scavenger Hunt” as our employees were divided into teams, created unique team names, and then created matching team uniforms. Using their wireless devices and Actsoft software (of course, we had to add some hands-on learning to this exercise) teams were given “clues” to specific locations around the Tampa Bay area.

Aaron and I took over the sales team a couple of months earlier and wanted to do something memorable. We just simply thought “What would we love to do if we were the sales guys and we were down here with all of our team mates?” It became pretty clear that these guys would have an amazing time running all over Tampa and seeing the best this city has to offer and also have stories for years to come. Luckily for us, we were right.” Andrew Velker, National Sales Director.

Actsoft Challenge 2011 gave our employees the opportunity to utilize the companies mobile resource management software in a fun way while building teamwork and leadership skills. Using Actsoft’s Comet Tracker solution, teams marked the tasks/order sent to them as status “Accepted.” As they continued on their journey, they selected the order status of “We Found It” which opened up a custom-created form using Actsoft’s Advanced Wireless Forms. Teams were required to answer questions regarding the task and take a picture of the location for verification. Once complete, they were to submit their form wirelessly back to the management team from the field.

During the challenge, teams made several interesting stops that included: Actsoft’s new office, a local pub, The University of South Florida, Lowery Park Zoo, Seminole Hard Rock Casino, a local bowling alley, and ending with the big boss man’s house. A photo op with Elvis and a man wearing a kilt were on the list as a requirement for winning!

This activity was great due to many reasons. It was first and foremost, a blast to watch the teams coordinating their efforts and utilizing all resources to get the job done. It also allowed our sales team to put themselves in the "customer's shoes" for a day and establish relationships not only with their sales teammates but also our Actsoft Management Team who helped at each stop.” Aaron Watkins, National Sales Director
